Kandal, September 9, 2025 – Techo International Airport celebrated a historic milestone today as it officially commenced operations with the arrival of its first two commercial flights.
Air Cambodia landed from China, carrying the first passengers to step foot in the new airport. Shortly after, Singapore Airlines arrived to a warm welcome, greeted by a Water Salute, a lively Chhai Yam cultural performance, and the presentation of special souvenirs for arriving travelers.


The ceremony was graced by the presence of high-ranking officials H.E. Dr. Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), Lok Neak Oknha Dr. Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd, Oknha Charles Vann, CEO of Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd., H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh City, H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Kandal Province, H.E. Vy Samnang, Governor of Takeo Province along with other senior leaders and officials.


Techo International Airport, a landmark achievement and a new source of national pride for Cambodia, officially commences operations on September 9, 2025, with its grand inauguration to follow on October 20, 2025, under the High Presidency of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
This opening marks a significant step forward for Cambodia’s aviation industry and economy. The airport assumes the role of replacing the current Phnom Penh International Airport and is set to become a vital hub for air connectivity in the country.
Aviation serves as one of the most important means of connecting tourists, businesses, political missions, and multifaceted cooperation, while also being a crucial driver of economic growth. It plays a central role in attracting investment, fostering diplomatic relations, and advancing Cambodia’s long-term development goals.
With this vision, Cambodia has actively invested in and expanded the development of this international-standard airport to meet the growing demands of travel and connectivity, and to strengthen the country’s position as a gateway in the region.


The official inauguration of Techo International Airport will take place on October 20, 2025, under the High Presidency of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
