On the morning of September 4, 2025, Techo International Airport (KTI) successfully carried out its second round of trial flights, operated by Air Cambodia and Sky Angkor Airlines. Two test routes were conducted:
1. Domestic Route – from Techo International Airport to Siem Reap and return, with a total of 105 passengers.
2. International Route – from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and then onward to KTI.


Okhna Charles Vann, CEO of Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd. (CAIC), stated that this marked the second successful trial for the new airport. The Phnom Penh–Ho Chi Minh–KTI route carried 137 passengers outbound, with 27 disembarking in Ho Chi Minh City, while 110 continued to KTI. Both the domestic and international flights were completed smoothly and safely, covering all aspects of operations, maintenance, and air traffic management. The ground handling operator, SCA, also confirmed that there were no disruptions during the process.

Located in Prek Sleng commune, Kandal Steung district, Kandal province, Techo International Airport covers a total area of 2,600 hectares. Classified as a 4F airport, it is designed to accommodate long-haul international flights and handle large wide-body aircraft.
Following the success of the second trial flights, Techo International Airport is scheduled to officially commence commercial operations on September 9, 2025.
